Work Area for
Baby Photos
-
If at all possible,
use a digital camera.
-
Be sure to take
photos in the daytime using natural light.
-
Do NOT use the flash
in your camera
-
For babies, place a
solid color blanket on the floor making sure to have cushioning
underneath for baby's comfort and lay baby on blanket.
-
Make sure that all
you see with the camera viewfinder is the baby on the blanket
and nothing else i.e. no clutter or furniture, etc. etc.
|
|
Backgrounds
for older children & adults
-
Try to use solid
backgrounds for indoor photos
-
Be sure to take
photos in the daytime using natural light.
-
Do NOT use the flash
in your camera
-
Try to capture the
faces as close-up as possible.
|
|
Camera
Preparation
-
Set up the camera
ahead of time.
-
Make sure to turn
off any date stamp feature (this will spoil your photo)
-
Read your camera
manual if necessary, to set your camera to the highest possible
resolution. Minimum size resolution should be 1800 x 1200
pixels.
-
Make sure you have
fresh batteries to make sure your camera does not give up on you
during the photo session.
|
|
The SUBJECT
of your photos
Baby or Children and
Adults
-
If you are taking
pictures of your baby, make sure baby is well rested
as you want a "happy" baby for success! Make sure baby has
taken
a nap and been fed.
-
Make sure to have a
recently bathed baby - fresh looking face and
combed hair.
-
Dress BABY or other
subjects for your photos in solid clothes as
intricate designs and patterns are very distracting.
Or even better...take photos of baby in a diaper only!
|
|
Taking the
Actual Photos
-
For babies, get
above your baby (while baby is laying on the blanket)
and point the camera downwards.
-
Remember to make
sure that all you see is the baby and the blanket
background.
-
Look at the camera
pictures preview function and make sure
the photos are not blurry or out of focus. Take pictures
from different
angles for added interest.
-
No photos showing
any nudity will be accepted. Photos of babies
may NOT show genital area. Thank you for your
understanding.
|
|
Take Many
Pictures and send us at least 3 or 4
to work with as not all angles may work well.
When emailing us, please send each photo separately.
i.e. - if you have 4 photos, send us 4 emails with one photo
attachment in each email for better results.
